The 2007 Hayride Charities
Remember, all the money we have raised has always been donated to the local branches of the charities we have supported, so there is every chance that someone close to any one of you has benefited from the Hayride effort.

In this the final year of Hayride we are supporting four most worthy charities:

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Cystic Fibrosis is the UK’s most common life threatening inherited disease with over two million people in the UK carrying the faulty gene that causes it. The average life expectancy of a sufferer is only 32 years although improvements in treatment could help people to live longer. The money we donate will fund medical research to help develop a cure and improve treatments for sufferers.

Dove House Hospice

Dove House offers specialist palliative care to adults with life threatening illness. They offer both In-patient and Day therapy services and provide pain and symptom control, terminal and respite care. Not only do they care for the patient but also the whole family offering a counselling and bereavement service to anyone who needs it. Dove House services are entirely free of charge so all donations are put to excellent use.

Yorkshire Cancer Research

Yorkshire Cancer Research fund research by awarding grants to scientists working in our local universities of Bradford, Hull, Leeds, Sheffield and York. This concentration of expertise in our region means that cancer sufferers in Yorkshire have access to some of the world’s best treatment and therapy.

York & District Against Motor Neurone Disease

York & District Against Motor Neurone Disease is an independent charity providing practical help for MND sufferers and their families. MND can strike anyone, anywhere, at any time. It is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the motor neurones leading to wasting of muscles causing increasing loss of mobility, difficulties with speech, swallowing and breathing.

So as you can see our efforts will help lots of people so your support would be most appreciated.
