The Parish Council
Parish Council meetings and announcements can be found in this section.
All meetings are open to the public and the Parish Council welcomes the attendance of residents to let the Council have your views on a subject under debate. Provided the Council agree (and they usually do) residents can speak on items on the published agenda.
Council Meetings – Public Involvement
You can also have your say on items that would not otherwise be on the agenda, but you need to contact our Clerk (John Smith, tel 01964 550940 or by
e-mail) at least 10 days before a meeting so that a specific item can be included on the agenda.
Dates of the next two Council meetings are always set out on the two notice boards.
‘ON THE ROAD’ PUBLIC DISCUSSION EVENT - 9TH JULY 2008
Please note that East Riding of Yorkshire Council will be holding the above event in the village. This is your ideal opportunity to raise issues and put questions direct to Leading Members and Senior Officers of East Riding Council. During the afternoon the Council and Partner Services will be showcased from 12.30pm to 4.30pm in the Village Hall and the main discussion event will take place in Walkington Primary School from 6.30pm to 8.00pm.
The Parish Council would encourage residents to attend the various events programmed for the day and particularly the evening discussion session.
It would assist the Parish Council if prior notification of any items to be raised could be forwarded to our Clerk (John Smith) by mid June if possible. Tel No.01964 550940 or by
e-mail.
Fly Tipping
The Parish Council would like to remind all residents about the impact of fly tipping.
Fly tipping is a criminal activity that can cause serious pollution of the environment, can be a risk to human health and can harm wildlife and farm animals. It spoils the appearance of the village and quality of life and is costly to clear up.
Any residents that have any knowledge of someone fly tipping should pass the details to Rob Parkinson at the East Riding of Yorkshire Council on 01482 395582 who will carry out the necessary investigations.
