Walkington Pre-School
Offering an indispensible service to families of young children in our area, Walkington Pre-School is quietly and confidently going from strength to strength. Within a safe, secure and stimulating environment they offer our children a specially tailored curriculum leading to early learning goals, aiding their development and progression to full-time education.
Walkington Pre-School Committee is always looking for new ways to raise funds to ultimately enhance education and care of its children. The committee is about to begin planning a sponsored event for the summer, which will have the involvement of the children. We hope you will support this worthy cause.
Morning & Afternoon sessions during term time for children aged two and a half to five.
It is possible to stay for a full day
All sessions welcome children between the ages of 21/2 and 5 years

Walkington Pre School would like to thank everyone for their support with the fones4schools fundraising campaign that they ran in the Summer term. The Pre School children managed to collect just over 200 unwanted mobiles phones. These phones will now be recycled rather than ending up in a landfill site.
Every Pre School child who collected an unwanted mobile phone has earned themself a fantastic prize for all the effort they put into this fundraising campaign. As well as the children’s prizes, Walkington Pre School will receive a cheque from fones4schools for £300.
The money raised from the fones4schools campaign will go towards buying a much needed, brand new sand and water play table for the children at Walkington Pre School.

Our personal thanks go to Chris Day for running the Walkington 10K and raising £100 in sponsorship from family and friends. He completed the course in a spectacular time of 45minutes 30 seconds.
On Saturday, 19th July Walkington Pre School Committee held a Summer Disco in the village hall. A fantastic night was had by all and an amazing total of £556 was raised through ticket sales and a raffle on the night. The money raised will be put towards purchasing a wooden play house for the Pre School children.
The committee would like to thank Sean Beardsley for designing the posters and tickets and Mike Fairfoot for printing them. Also thank you to Andy Rollins from ACE disco for the music.
The Pre School Committee are now busy organising a Winter Disco at the village hall on Saturday 22nd November. Tickets are available from Jane Dealtry-Todd, 860543.
The next fundraising event is a Pampered Chef Plus Guests Evening, 7.30pm, 22nd October at the village hall. Tickets are £3 which includes a complimentary glass of wine, recipe demonstration and stalls to treat yourself from. Tickets can be bought from Jane Robinson, 07932 747436.
At the end of the summer term, just over 20 children left Walkington Pre School to start ‘big school’ and the Pre School now have spaces to take in new children.
