The School

The Victorian school was founded at Northgate in 1876 with 62 pupils, the infant school was opened at the Crake Wells site in 1973 but juniors remained in the old building.  At the end of the 20th century funding was released to allow the whole school to exist on one site.

The school now has 257 pupils in 9 classes The official opening of the consolidated building was by Rt Hon David Blunkett, Secretary of State for Education and Employment on - 19 October 1999.

Friends of Walkington School

The Friends of Walkington School is there to raise funds for the school which in turn benefits your children. In the past we have been able to buy books, computer equipment and more recently help to fund the outdoor play equipment.

If you have any ideas or suggestions for fund raising, please let us know. You can call a committee member, drop a note into the school office marked for Friends. Remember Friends of the School cannot survive without your help so please do what you can.
