Walkington Youth Club

Walkington YC runs every Friday at Walkington primary school.

From September 2008 we will be running two sessions:
  • 7pm-8pm ages 9-11 (school years 5&6)
  • 8pm-9pm ages 12-18 (school years 7-13)
The cost is £1 per family.

We encourage the young people to create a programme of activities for each term, which includes cooking, music, film, arts & crafts, sports & computer games.  The sessions are informal and are run to provide young people of Walkington with a safe and friendly place to meet friends, hang out and try new things.

In the future we would like to offer Youth achievement awards, as well as running workshops around first aid, drug and alcohol use and team building.

For further information, please do not hesitate to contact:
  • Jay Rowley Youth Worker 07905 046959
  • Liz Jack Ast Youth Worker 07944 124171
The youth club is run in partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council & Walkington Parish Council.

Can you help?

We urgently require volunteers, young or old to be involved with the youth club committee. All that we ask is that you attend a meeting once a month and help us to move the youth club forward and bring ideas and suggestions to the committee.

Youths are fast gaining a negative reputation. An organised youth club is an excellent way to promote positive behaviours and channel energies in the right way.

Sparing a small amount of your time may just help us to create a fantastic youth club and importantly an environment to develop practical and social skills.
